Team

Jonas Parello-Plesner
Executive Director
Jonas oversees the overall management and fundraising efforts of our organization, including the annual Copenhagen Democracy Summit. With experience across global power centers—Washington, Beijing, and Brussels—he brings a deep understanding of international affairs.
He is a frequent commentator in both Danish and international media and contributes a regular column to Berlingske.

Elisabeth Kungla
Communications Coordinator
Elisabeth oversees our foundations communications activities, external outreach, media engagements, and social media. With a background in journalism, she has worked in both print and television across Estonian newsrooms, bringing valuable media expertise to her role.

Viktoria Musilova
Project Manager
Viktoria is taking ownership over the side event and delegation management, contributing her previous experience to the successful delivery of the Copenhagen Democracy Summit.
With a background in international policy projects and event coordination, she has previously worked with GLOBSEC and is currently finishing an Executive MSc in Healthcare Management.

Joaquim Querol Mercadé
Communications Assistant
Joaquim Querol Mercadé is a sustainability researcher and psychologist with an MSc in Interdisciplinary Sustainability Studies , a BSc in Psychology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and is completing an MSc in Global and Development Studies at Roskilde University.
He has worked as a Sustainability Consultant and Communications Associate at Nordic Sustainability and as a Research Manager at the Gomà Institute.
Joaquim is a native Spanish and Catalan speaker and is fluent in English, French, and Italian.
Nikolai John Mizani
Junior Associate
Nikolai holds bachelor’s degrees in history and political science from McGill University, where he focused on international relations and was a member of the pre-law student society. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Security Risk Management at the University of Copenhagen.
