INVESTING IN DEMOCRACY
Strained transatlantic relations and an increasingly threatening global environment have triggered Europe to rapidly increase defence and security investment. Private actors are beginning to enter the fray, although far more work is needed to convince some investors to move past their old defence exclusion policies.

Modern warfare is evolving rapidly through technological innovation. Democracies must be in the vanguard.
Despite increased defence investment over the past decade, Europe's defence industry remains inadequate to address the conventional and hybrid threats it faces.
DEMOCRACY TECH PROGRAM
We believe that emerging tech both creates challenges and enormous opportunities for democracy. That is why we founded the The Democracy Tech Entrepreneur Fellowship, an initiative that seeks to make technology work for democracy by supporting entrepreneurs in Eastern Europe who are developing new pro-democracy tech tools.
We have also developed several tools to support tech developers and users to bake democracy into their products, and to build media literacy.
